Kindergarten (seen below) is busy perfecting logging on to the computers. They are exploring the keyboard and working on fine motor coordination with the mouse using Kid Pix, a digital drawing and multimedia word processing program, and Bees and Honey, an online counting game. Second through Fifth Grade were introduced to the home keys and practiced keyboarding. Also, First Grade through Fifth Grade started their unit on Digital Citizenship, talking about Internet safety.

Keyboarding starts in 3rd Grade and continues through 5th Grade. We have Typingmaster Pro installed on lab computers. Our class only meets once per week, so I recommend that kids practice typing for 10-15 minutes, 3 times per week at home.
