I'm offering a special drawing challenge to all my 3rd, 4th and 5th grade art students. It's a "doodle" contest offered by Google and it is actually open to all students, grades K - 12.
I've introduced the concept and given the entry form to all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. Please note that it is optional for them to enter the contest.
If a student does choose to enter, they need to get a parent or guardian to sign the special paper, fill in the bottom section of the form, and then return it to me ASAP. I will be sending in ALL submissions that are completed and returned to me by the end of February. I'm giving the students one class session to get started; they may need / want more time at home to work. I suggest strongly that you have them complete it sooner rather than later.
For further info and inspiration, please visit doodle4google.com online, as well as some of the fun inspirational videos (we watched the first one together, you can see it HERE ) and google.com/doodles.
The prizes inspired the students, but most of all, the concept of doodling for Google...and perhaps getting their design idea published online! As an art teacher, I want to introduce my students to the concept of lettering and to the power of doodling ideas.
There are extra blank forms available in the front office and in the art studio. Have fun!
