I am pleased to announce that Glenwood is now running Cool the Earth, a fun and educational program teaching children how to care for the earth and each other.
The GSF voted last Spring to bring this program back to Glenwood this Fall and we are excited about the launch. Earlier this week, your child saw a play illustrating causes and solutions to environmental challenges. Some of these solutions are outlined in Cool the Earth’s Action Coupon book. Students and families are encouraged to pledge to take Action and turn in coupons. Actions will be tracked on a banner at school and with other schools nationally at cooltheearth.org.
Our school’s goal is to pledge to take 800 actions during our campaign.
Easy Step-by-Step Instructions:
1. Take Action—fill out an Action Coupon for each action you pledge to takeor have already taken.
2. Return Action Coupons and get Cool the Earth trading cards Day: Friday Time: Pick-up Location: In front of the main office
3. Keep taking action
Join Club Koda and receive a fun e-zine with kids’ activities and reminders of your actions. Go to cooltheearth.org to sign up.
Hang Action Activity page (see reverse side) on fridge as a reminder of actions.
This school program is coordinated and implemented by a team of students, teachers and parent volunteers. Please contact Elise Rankin at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in volunteering. I am proud of our school for its commitment to educate our students about ways in which we can be better stewards of our community and of our planet. Learning responsibility, citizenship and caring are values our students will carry with them for life.
